The Future of B-H - a Mostar Perspective

Monday, 01 July, 2002: Colin Munro
Colin Munro served in 2001 as Deputy High Representative for B-H, based in Mostar. His experience of that divided city uniquely qualified him to provide an authoritative comment, at a particularly well attended monthly BI forum, on the ideas on the reintegration of Bosnia-Herzegovina recently outlined - e.g. in an inaugural speech to the country's representative assembly - by the newly appointed High Representative Paddy Ashdown. His wide-ranging, lively and perhaps surprisingly optimistic talk, which among other things drew parallels and pointed up differences between post-war B-H and post-conflict Northern Ireland, stimulated a vigorous discussion, with the participation of many people with direct knowledge of Mostar.
