Bosnia's strong craft tradition continues to flourish despite the recent war. Metalworkers, drawing on their mediaeval and Ottoman roots, along with gold and silversmiths, are still found working in Sarajevo's Bascarsija. In the countryside traditional potters continue to produce their wares using ancient technologies that are extinct elsewhere.
